On the Irish island of Paxos in Greece we stayed overnight in one of the most beautiful and secluded island paradises in the world – Antipaxos. Whether you are leaving the beaten track, visiting deserted beaches or enjoying the nightlife by partying all night, you should check out this must-see Greek island. A day trip to the tiny island of AntipsaXos is a must for anyone who wants to camp, hike, fish or just spend a night on the beach. Sources: 6, 14
Antipaxoi is located opposite Paxi and is easily accessible from the Ionian island, making it the perfect base for island hopping. Indeed, one can even say that Voutoumi is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island of Antipsaxos in Greece. Sources: 1, 8, 10
If you are one of the lucky ones who go to the Ionian Islands, you can moor and visit the beaches and bars whenever you want. If you are lucky enough to stay on a boat just off the coast of this little paradise, staying on the island for a while is nothing. This small piece of land is a great destination when it comes to the number of must-visit beaches. Sources: 1, 3

Even in the height of summer, peace and quiet is the key, but legend has it that Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, found his home on the tiny island of Paxi. Greek legend says that it was Neptune’s sea that choked the island of Corfu, and he struck it with his trident and built a shelter between the two, creating Paxos, or little Antipaxos. The island of Paxos was formed when the sea god Poseidon with his trident pierced the island of Corfu and broke off the southern tip. From that moment on, you would find your idea of paradise floating in the middle of a sea of blue water, free from the claws of the sea of Neptune and free to float yourself. Sources: 2, 13
As a Greek Cypriot, you already know how beautiful, stunning and fascinating jazz is on this Greek island, but it is super duper popular with most people who are not of Greek or European descent, which is not surprising as it is literally one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island of Paxos. My experience on Paxo is that this is not a holiday island, as anyone who comes to the party might be disappointed, because even if there is a party, it is not the main thing that this island has to offer. If you prefer to relax in the waterfront café, there are some great cafes, restaurants, bars, shops and even a few restaurants on the island. On Friday evening you can try the Greek tasting buffet, which is a great option if you want to try the local dishes. You will be served wonderful Greek dishes, including grilled octopus, a dish for which Paxos is famous, and you will have the opportunity to take a hike in Oia. Visit with us one of the most popular tourist attractions on Paxo, the beach, or join us on our next trip to the other side of the island, the town of Kavala. Sources: 5, 9, 14

Corfu also serves Paxos, but then you have to change to the island by seaplane. Paxi can also be reached by ferry, where the ferries are larger and in some cases can be rebooked on vehicles, in which case the trip takes about one and a half hours. Sources: 8, 15
It is interesting to know that Easyjet flies from Athens, but please remember that if you are delayed or miss your connection, you will need to rebook your ticket. I find this useful if you have a few hours before the flight to kill and leave your luggage at the airport, as I have no doubt that the old town of Corfu is within walking distance. Sources: 5, 15
Less than 50 people live on the island, and tourists come to spend a day in a new environment before spending the rest of their vacation in Pakhos, Corfu or Rarga. This relaxed arrangement surprised me, as I am used to living in a more relaxed environment, with pool, beach and some other amenities. The island was a place where I went swimming and spent a few hours, but not much more than that. Sources: 5, 7
