Lobster rolls may sound like a New England tourist trap, but they are revered throughout the culinary landscape. Lobster roll, a dish iconic in the New Hampshire kitchen, is associated with New Massachusetts. Other local seafood plays into the local flavour, such as oysters, clams, crabs, lobster and lobster rolls. Sources: 18, 19

The latter, also known as the Connecticut-style naked lobster roll, is a grilled hot dog bun drizzled with warm butter. Lobster rolls are primarily filled with the round claw and tail meat of the lobster, but also with other ingredients such as oysters, clams, crabs and lobster shells. I’ve never made a lobster bun on a warm brioche bun, so I’ll never know some of the secret ingredients, but I’m not one to skimp lobster or make lettuce look fake. In true lobster roll pro fashion, a piece of salad placed between the bun and lobster helps prevent nasal bleeding and transform that perfection into beauty. For a thoroughly modern touch, lobster rolls are also available on gluten-free buns. Don’t get me wrong, the beauty of lobster rolls lies in their ease of preparation, but they are surprisingly easy to make. Although I would never call lobster cheap, you can save a lot of money by making it at home instead of ordering it at one of the many restaurants in the New England region, and for $28 you get a lobster roll with mayo and serve it on a grilled or buttered – top split bun. You can cook your lobster to eat like corn on the cob or sausages, as is traditional in New Hampshire, or you can cook it as a side dish at your favorite restaurant. I recommend the hot and buttered way here, because it is too tasty and comes with the possibility of squeezing the meat into a butterscotch brioche bun. In a Maine lobster bun on a mission, there’s no over salted cooking water, overcooked meat, or too much salt and pepper, so choose your way! In Connecticut, lobster rolls are simply dressed in butter and forget to serve warm in butter, but in Maine, you can serve them with a little butter on the side. For example, I only had one lobster roll in Manhattan, but from what I have heard, it’s where the best lobster rolls are. There are restaurants in Connecticut where you can find mayo lobster rolls on the menu, sometimes called lobster salad rolls. Connecticut-style lobster rolls don’t contain mayonnaise or lobster salad, but warm lobster and plenty of butter. I found the lobster meat covered in mayo, but I must say that the spicy and buttered lobster bun is one of the best things about it. The sandwich follows a similar pattern to that of a grilled or grilled lobster, like Bertozzi’s Baked Lobster Roll, except that he chose dashi aioli instead of mayonaise to decorate the sweet lobster meat.
