Something Long And Complicated visits Lake Wanaka, New Zealand 🇳🇿

Especially the South Island of New Zealand offers awe inspiring views of snow-capped mountains and turquoise lakes that are really worth seeing. There are absolutely breathtaking places to choose from when it comes to the most beautiful places in the world, from the mountains of South Africa to those of Australia and the Pacific. Lake Wanaka has many hiking trails in the surrounding mountains that you can hike to have a breathtaking view of the lake. The largest vantage point on Lake Wanaka is Lake Waneka Lookout, which is located at the northern end of the lake and offers great views of all of New Zealand and the South Island. Sources: 1, 11

If I had to guess, I would say that we probably have one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and also the largest lake in New Zealand. This combined beauty brings us to the 13 must-see attractions at Lake Wanaka, the second most breathtaking place I have visited. I’Ve concluded that all of the 13 places we have seen and visited are absolutely breathtaking. Sources: 3, 10

The last place I would like to highlight are the wonderful walks that can be made in the area. This is definitely one of the places you want to photograph while you are in Wanaka! The most breathtaking coastline of Lake Wanakas lies at the end of a long, narrow stretch of land, just a few hundred metres from the shore. Sources: 1

Besides the amazing walks and beautiful viewpoints, there is also the fact that you will probably learn much more about the history of Lake Wanakas and its inhabitants. This is one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand and is well worth a visit, especially if you want to know a little about the history and the people behind it. Sources: 1, 8

Lake Wanaka is less hectic than Queenstown and a true paradise overall, but there is also a lake and river around the city and world-famous fly fishing, which provides visitors with a great opportunity to enjoy the quiet side of New Zealand. The last vantage point I would like to highlight is Lake Hawea Lookout. Although I am surrounded by some of the most picturesque scenery, the South Island of New Zealand is my absolute favourite place. Sources: 1, 2, 5, 11

There are a variety of activities for all types of travelers and Wanaka is also home to the Drill Cone Mountain Range. Queenstown offers from the top of its incredibly beautiful landscape an incredible view of the North and South Island of New Zealand. It is also popular as a walk-in community that excels in food and wine beyond its weight. Sources: 0, 6, 7, 10

Rippon Vineyard is a place that can be reached from the top of Drill Cone Mountain Range in Wanaka, New Zealand, about an hour and a half from Queenstown. Sources: 6

Rippon is famous for its unique wine production, but also offers a range of other specialties, such as a range of food and beverages, and an outdoor recreational area. Lake Pukaki is also a popular destination for nature lovers, as it is located near Lake Hawea, the largest lake in New Zealand. The peaks, which stretch far over the coasts of Wanaka and Hawea, are part of the vast wilderness that surrounds much of New York’s South Island. Sources: 4, 8, 9

New Zealand hosts some pretty cool playgrounds, and the big on the water in Wanaka was a favorite for kids on New Zealand road trips. We were lucky enough to visit this part of the South Island during our recent trip to New York City for a New Year’s Eve party. Sources: 4, 13

Wanaka is becoming a popular destination as more and more people realize how close it is to the emerging national park and the views are overwhelming. The city is located on the shores of Lake Wanaka and offers some of the best views in New Zealand, including the Southern Alps and the surrounding mountain ranges. On the descent, you will be surrounded by beautiful views of New Zealand, including Hawke’s Bay, the Pisa range, Lake Waikato, Taranaki and Lake Taupo. From the southern end of the Taipo, you can admire the view from the Southern Alps, the PISA chain and beyond. Sources: 2, 5, 7

Lake Wakatipu is a lake in the form of lightning, recognizable by its shape as shown on the map below, where it shows the top of the mountain and the bottom of Lake Waikato, Hawke’s Bay, the Pisa chain and Taranaki. Sources: 8, 12

Jet Boat is a popular tourist activity in New Zealand, and Wanaka is another great place to do so. You can take a boat tour around the islands of LakeWanaka, it seems to be an entertaining experience and you can do it in a number of different boat types, such as a kayak, a canoe or a jet boat.
