Hanauma Bay has something for everyone, but only Maluaka Beach is popular because it is one of the best snorkeling spots on Maui. Although “Turtle Town” is the nickname for several great snake spots on Hawaii Island, most people who use the name refer to the place that is MalUaka Beach, and that’s it. The entire coast is known as the turtle town and this place is not only a good place to see green sea turtles, but also a great place for a quick dip into the waters of Molokini. I’ve seen more turtles in Maui than any other Hawaiian island, and it gets better with every trip. Overall, snorkeling has been the best of all Hawaii’s main islands, and although there are not the soft corals seen elsewhere in the world, MauI has some of the healthiest hard corals found on any major Hawaiian island. The bleaching events of recent years have killed some corals, especially cauliflower corals, but there is actually a coral garden at this location, located in the Midwest of the coast. The Big Island has become a snorkeling paradise due to its coral reefs, but Oahu has some of the best scuba diving sites in the world, such as Molokini Crater. Maui is known for its popularity with sea turtles and is not idle due to its proximity to the largest island in Hawaii. The best place to see the Hawaiian sea turtle is Turtle Town and there are no limits to what Ke’e Beach has to offer.
