Beyond the menacing-looking and crowded pergsolas, there are relatively new elevator towers that make Sironit Beach and Herzl Beach unique and offer a sloping beach that is very important.
The initiative to build the monument came from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and received support from the Russian leadership. In 2012, President Vladimir Putin, President Barack Obama and President Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama, attended the unveiling of the monument.
To reach the Sha’ar Poleg Nature Reserve, drive to Megiddo Junction southeast of Road 675, then west to Wingate Institute and continue to Coast Road 2. Over the Nahal-Poleg bridge, turn left at the parking lot and right onto the road and then right onto the highway, follow the signs, drive east on road 775 to Sha’ar Po Leg and follow it for a few kilometers, and finally turn east on road 575. You can walk along the beach for about 10-15 minutes until you cross the water and walk back to Herzl Beach, south of the park.

Prawns are not uncommon in Thailand and tofu is served with pad Thai, but shrimp and solid tofu seem to be the most popular alternatives. It is possible to customise the Thai pads to your liking, so if you love spicy noodles and large shrimp, you will probably love them. I can only imagine that many of the critics who say there is no such thing as Pad Thai, and have never been to Thailand. With Thai food truly global, with twenty thousand Thai restaurants at least, Pad Thai connoisseurs expect it to become one of Thailand’s most popular, if not the most famous, dishes. If chefs and noodle packers leave it well enough alone, perhaps its most famous dish will continue to lure Western converts to Asia’s hottest cuisine, and maintain its status as a staple of Thai cuisine for many years to come.
While “traditional” is a word that can be applied to any fusion dish invented in relatively modern times, the following is the basic traditional Pad Thai recipe that combines the best ingredients of Thai cuisine: rice, noodles, rice noodles and sauce. Inspired by authentic recipes for Pad Thailand sauces, I have developed an adapted version that can compete with the good restaurant variations that I now love and the traditional version we are used to from Thai restaurants.
Pad Thai Sauce is made by stirring – fry all ingredients in a wok and put in a homemade Pad Thai sauce.
Do not leave it on the stove for 10-15 minutes, otherwise the pasta will stick together, tongs are most useful. Pad Thai is best eaten straight from the pan and served immediately after cooking, but not so much beaten up that you want to leave it sitting at the table for too long. But if you prepare and eat it immediately, it is really good when it is prepared and eaten.
Avoid buying fettuccine – like Pad Thai noodles, as they take much longer to reach an edible consistency. As the rice noodles used for the pad Thailand are also on the tough side, shirataki noodles are best for this dish, but not so good. Avoid buying short, sticky rice noodles that come out of the packaging and are often referred to as “Thai stirred noodles.”
Once the sauce is ready, you can use it to make pad Thai with other dishes, such as stir-fry fried chicken, shrimp or even pork. I’ve also seen sauces that contain kaffir lime, which is not traditional Thai pad, but a delicious addition. It is easy to learn more about how to make pad Thai sauce and what it is as well as making it yourself.

Locro can also be served as a side dish, as an appetizer or as part of a meal. This wonderfully practical torn paste of ingredients is sold in many Hispanic grocery stores and is generally mashed with fresh Amarillo devein (a seeded, fresh Amarillos are put in a pot if they don’t get it, or simply replace a can of jalapeno peppers or add a little salt, pepper, garlic, oregano and / or a pinch of coriander.
Traditional pubs often make Locro with organ meat or tripe, but you can defy tradition and leave it at that. You can use ground beef, deer, chorizo, sausage or ribs, and some families choose pork, while others prefer beef. If you get it, you should use a combination of pork and beef meat, as well as huacatay (Amazon mint).
Cucurbita moschata (known in English as calabaza) is the main ingredient in the recipe I use, as well as Zapallo pumpkin and Huacatay. If you live in South America and can get it, it is available in many local markets near you.
Since the Spanish brought the cow to Argentina, the meat is often beef, but pork and deer are also popular.
Sausages are often generously garnished with native ingredients such as corn and pumpkin, but green vegetables may not play a major role in the traditional diet. A squash-based loco, the most common type of loco in Argentina, usually contains a variety of pumpkins such as the Zapallo Macre or the orange pumpkin. This special one is traditionally made from the South – American orange squash that is hard to find in their home country. The recipe also includes the varieties grown in South America and created in the USA by crossing the two types of squash. These varieties are grown for their sweet and spicy flavour and texture.
Locro is a thick, savoury soup traditionally made from corn, other vegetables and meat used by the locals. Some variations of locro add fresh corn to the soup, others add chopped cabbage or leafy vegetables.
For one thing, sweet potatoes have a colour and sweetness that can easily be replaced by pumpkin from which to make locro. Fresh corn is the star here, and the flavour is accentuated by the addition of sweet potatoes and a hint of salt and pepper, as well as a little garlic.
The best thing about locro Zapallo is that, although it is a very light meal, because it is mainly vegetables, if you feel something is missing, you can mix it up and take it to another level by adding beef, lamb or chicken. If you have a large family, locro is the ultimate scalable dish, whether you’re cooking for a block party or just adding it when needed.
Add the chopped pumpkin, butternut and potato cubes to sweeten the flavour. Then add mash, beans, baby corn and corn on the corn cob for texture.
If you are making Locro yourself, Once you have finished roasting the meat and taken it out of the pan, turn off the heat and add the chopped garlic and onions and fry for about a minute. Stir in garlic, tomato paste, herbs and cumin, add stock and cook for about 5 minutes. When the water of the potatoes becomes slightly opaque, reduce to medium heat, add 1 / 2 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of salt and then 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Cover the pot and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pumpkin is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking. Turn off the heat, cover and simmer for another 15-20 minutes or so until the vegetables are cooked to perfection (the time will vary depending on the hardness of the vegetables used). Form the pumpkin into a mash and cook, partially covered, for about 20-30 minutes until both the pumpkin and the pumpkin fall apart. This is a good time to cover the pots and not let them dry out, but don’t be afraid to turn them off for a few minutes to dry them out.

San Marcos de the Sierras is a true hippie harbour and a great place to relax and enjoy the idyllic landscape of Cordoba. A short path leads to Cerro Virgen and from Villa Alpina this path approaches the 2790m high peak for an ascent to La Cumbrecita. From the hill of Uritorco, which meets the Siersras de Chicas, Capilla del Monte is the perfect place to spend a few days and really get to know the Sierra that surrounds it.
Staying there you will see a light in the sky that scientists cannot explain, and as you pass the imposing red earth columns of La Cumbrecita you can explore the many canyons and undulating crevices that abound in this region. Try to climb through the grass labyrinths of Los Cocos, take the chairlift up the mountain or slide into the Alps. It is a relatively easy climb and after a few hours you will climb a steep hill from which you have a view of the Sierra de Cordoba.
I have noticed that some social and cultural issues in Argentina can be a little sensitive, so update yourself on local laws and etiquette before you go.
In places like Cordoba, forecasts often fall into the hands of Lenardon, who, charged with ensuring the safety of the community, has to be confused and fails to do so from the air by the sparse and unreliable infrastructure. La Constancia is located high up in the Sierra and offers views as far as the eye can see and is the perfect starting point for horseback riding in Cordoba. I prefer to walk, although the view is absolutely breathtaking, but I have met a number of riders, young and old, from all walks of life. The hairiest horses I have ridden are the horses I rode in and around Cordoba, as they reach the mountainous region with ease, given the time and sometimes dangerously narrow paths.
As for the forecasts, Lenardon’s main concern is to identify weather patterns that can produce thunderstorms, which are notoriously fast and violent in the Pampa. In Cordoba, I think we have discovered a poorly mapped swath of the Sierra de Cordoba, which could offer a glimpse of upcoming storms. I remember the fog that carries a high peak that rises abruptly from the mountains above the plain just outside the city in a northwesterly direction. The Sierrade Cordova, which was formed during the Paleozoic era and has been heavily eroded, reaches a height of 2880 meters, with Mount Champaqui to the east of Villa Dolores.
